Fresh on the heels of Soapbox Petitions being added to the Salesforce.com AppExchange, we’re pleased as punch to share that Soapbox Events has joined it there as well!
Through clicks not code, Soapbox Events provides simple yet powerful online event management tools integrated with Salesforce. That combination makes it a rare bird. Just ask Justin Birdsong, Manager or Technology Product Development for the Cultural Data Project:
“Soapbox Events is a really, really excellent tool. I spent about 6 months researching different options and looked at everything from free bolt-ons to paid apps to full-scale customized consulting projects, and frankly, nothing really fit the mold unless we were prepared to spend tens of thousands.”
Can you believe it? It’s been one year since we had our inaugural Soapbox User Summit, but I still remember April 19, 2012 like it was yesterday. We had all the PICnetters together from near and far. We had Gunner from Aspiration Tech facilitate and clients attend from DC, Maryland, Connecticut, and New York.
We voted on our own session ideas, broke out into small groups, mingled with the Support Department at PICnet, had a gorgeous location and beautiful weather, and got to learn from accidental techies about their successes and struggles with technology for their own organizations.

With the recent release of Soapbox 2.2.20, we’ve added a number of enhancements to the Soapbox platform, focusing in large measure on expanding the power and flexibility of Soapbox Events, our online event management tool that integrates with Salesforce.
The big ticket item, so to speak, is the ability for Soapbox Events to collect attendee information. Now Soapbox administrators can request or require that end users registering for an event provide the name and email address of each of the attendees for whom they are reserving tickets – with that attendee information saved directly to Salesforce.

“Massive growth” with Soapbox Engage
“Soapbox Engage has allowed us to achieve pretty massive growth,” said Isaac Luria, Senior Director for Engagement, New Media and Technology.
The Groundswell Movement is a non-profit organization in New York City, sponsored by Auburn Seminary. It was founded on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 by a Sikh American family that was exposed to anti-Muslim violence. As a new organization, building their supporter base was vital.
Within two months of launching Soapbox Engage, they doubled their supporter list.
“We have a list of 40,000 supporters now. Soon we’ll likely be over 50,000 and could be over 100,000 by the end of the year,” said Luria. Read more »
